About this guide

Reviewers

No plastic surgeon reviews these pages. There is no “medically reviewed by” badge, no GMC number, and no reviewer photograph. Each article is written and fact-checked by the editorial team.

Why the badge is absent

A review badge on this site would name a doctor on the General Medical Council Specialist Register in plastic surgery, with that doctor’s GMC number and the date they last reviewed the page. That person has not been appointed. Until there is a written agreement, a list of the pages they have actually read, and permission to use their name, the badge stays off. A made-up reviewer would be worse than none.

The same rule applies to authors. A byline here is the editorial team, not a single invented name. If a named writer is appointed later, the byline, the biography, and the article schema will name that person. They are not named now.

What fact-checking means on this site

A claim that states a number, a rate, or a funding rule is tied to a source a reader can open. The order used is NHS and published integrated care board policies, NICE where it applies, BAPRAS and BAAPS statements, and peer-reviewed papers on PubMed or NCBI Bookshelf. Clinic websites are not used as evidence. The method is set out on editorial standards.

Pound figures are printed only on the cost guide and the finance page under it. Other pages link there. They do not repeat the figure.

If a reviewer is appointed

The biography would be a real name, a real photograph of that person, their title, their GMC number, the specialty on the Specialist Register, membership of BAPRAS or BAAPS if they hold it, the pages they have reviewed, and a link to the GMC register entry. Other websites in any wider group would not be named on that page. Until then, this page is the statement that the chair is empty.
