About this guide
Editorial Standards
Every article is written and fact-checked by the editorial team. A named clinician does not sign the pages. A number, a rate, or a funding rule is tied to a source you can open.
How pages are researched
Sources are used in this order. Published NHS and integrated care board policies first, because funding in England is local. Then NICE, where a guideline actually covers the question. Then statements from the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Then peer-reviewed papers on PubMed and chapters on NCBI Bookshelf. Clinic websites, forums, and before-and-after galleries are not sources.
United States averages are not converted into a UK price. A study from another country is labelled as that country’s data when it is used to show that two operations are not the same thing.
How prices are checked
One UK private-cost range is stored in a single place and printed only on the cost guide. It is the range stated on the NHS.uk tummy tuck page, plus the consultations and follow-up that page puts outside the range. It is not an NHS tariff and not a clinic quote. The date next to it is the day that NHS.uk page was re-read, written as day/month/year. Prices are re-checked once a year, and sooner if that NHS.uk page changes. Other pages link to the cost guide. They do not print a second figure, including for a mini tummy tuck, an apronectomy, or surgery abroad.
Review and updates
There is no medical reviewer. The fact-check is editorial: the sentence and the source are read against each other before publication. The empty reviewer chair is explained on reviewers. NHS and integrated care board pages are updated when the policy they cite changes. Safety pages are updated when the guideline or review they rely on changes.
Corrections
If a cited figure is wrong, write to info@tummytuckistanbul.co.uk. The correction stays on the page with the date it was made, next to the sentence that changed. A quiet overwrite without a date is not the practice here.
